Farewell To Summer

We had some fun adventures this summer. We planted a garden (still waiting for some of our veggies to ripen), took walks, went to the lake, visited the park, took two vacations to visit family, went on a camping trip and learned it takes some work to keep up a yard.

I have loved the sunny times and we enjoyed them so much. Now before we pull out the raincoats I'd like to smile and revisit summer for just a minute to say good bye.

Good bye swings without having to wipe the rain off first...
Good bye wading pool, "Don't splash me..."
Good bye playing in the grass without getting a wet seat...
Good bye merry-go-round at our new favorite park...
Good bye sand and lake water, "Don't drink that, EWWW..."
Good bye sitting out watching kids play and soaking up the sun.
Saying good bye to Summer isn't all bad. We will have next year to look forward to and with any luck we'll see some snow this winter and get to teach the boys how to enjoy that too. Good-bye Summer, we'll see you soon!

We Gotta Be Clean

There was a song on this blog some time ago that was called, "You've Got to be Clean." For some time my toddler ran around the house singing this song. The other day we got really dirty and decided it would be easier to clean the above mentioned toddler by putting him in the washing machine. He looks worried doesn't he?

Then Dad decided to get in on the action.
Once Dad was clean, although toddler wasn't done, I jumped in to get clean.
Then we figured we might as well throw in the baby while the rinse cycle was running.
Okay, so Dad had this machine taken apart and I said, "did you take some pictures in case you need a reminder when putting it back together." As a result this bit of silliness happened. Dad says he wants to use it for our Christmas cards. Good luck.

Peek-A-What

We're always playing peek-a-boo at our house and now that the baby is getting mobile and the toddler's getting more creative we have some fun variations.

Peek-A-Chair Hey, how'd you get under there?
Peek-A-Bath This is when you close your eyes and when you open them you're magically all clean. It's so amazing.
Peek-A-Hat This had less to do with peek-a-boo and more to do with the Johnny Appleseed book we'd red when visiting family. I thought it was pretty cute.
Peek-A-Boo Snow Glove Style
And last, but not least, Peek-A-Teeth. Now there are seven of them and they are biters!
